Nothing Lasts Forever by CapturingTheNight Nothing Lasts Forever by CapturingTheNight

A meteor streaks through the sky as the central bulge of The Milky Way sets for the year and an aurora display recedes to the south. The two bright patches in the top left of frame are the Large (left hand one) and Small Magellanic Clouds which are dwarf satellite galaxies of our own Milky Way.

Fabulous as always! The bare tree in the foreground is very poignant.
