Been very dry here lately and we are now into day three of a predicted week or two of 40+ degrees (Celsius) weather. Last night dry lightning storms rolled through the area and kicked of numerous fires. This is a stacked image comprised of about 60 sub frames. This fire was about 10km away. I don't like lightning in conditions like this. My thoughts are with those who have been effected by the much larger and more damaging fires burning across Australia. Please stay safe everyone.

Thank you for your thoughts. Finally had a bit of welcome rain today. :D Yes Orion is there in part. Cloud moving through the frame obscured parts of it at various times.

this certainly embodies the word 'catastrophic' coming out of the mouth of a survivor,
compare to the mouth of a politician, rhetorician or impact speaker.

a ravaging bombardment of celestial fury ~ the moment it seems
