I think I have said this before but the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning (typically well before sunrise) is go outside and see what the sky is doing. So when I looked out a couple of weeks ago and saw that the clouds from the night before had gone and a crescent moon was lighting up a fog bank in the valley below my house, there was only one thing to do: Grab the camera.
Taken during that brief period when the light from the coming dawn is just starting to appear on the horizon but is not yet strong enough to wash out too many stars. Single exposure.
