Hello all,

Finally have a little bit of time to catch up on all things DA.  It was a great surprise to receive my 6th Daily Deviation a couple of weeks ago for my image "Before The Storm"
Before The Storm by CapturingTheNight

I once again must give a huge  and a big THANK YOU to the legendary Nancy :iconanoya: for featuring the image and an equally big thanks to :iconrazielmb: for suggesting it.

On a sour note, I am so disappointed in how DA displayed my last image "Burning The Midnight Oil" that I am thinking about leaving here for good.  For someone who almost shoots exclusively night time images where subtle shadow detail is important for the overall feel of the image, the continued use of the horrible bright DA green to display our art on, which does absolutely nothing to display a piece in it's best light, is disgusting.  I have a properly calibrated computer monitor and I recalibrate it every week so I know exactly what I want to show the public in my photos but for some reason my last upload has been considerably darkened and it is not helped by that horrible background.  It looks heaps better on Facebook, and that is saying something.  Also the constant, pointless, site updates and "ads" to a long time fully paid up member is beyond a joke.  So please DA, lift your game soon and show some respect to your members and display their work in the best light possible, or I for one will be following countless photographers before me and leaving for good.

Wow. I just have to say that your work is incredible. I am absolutely in love with your images and they just make me want to go gaze at the sky and take pretty pictures (ableit they'd be much less grand than yours of course!). Absolutely fantastic work. ♡

I love your work.  Just out of curiosity, what size lenses do you use?  Do you need a tripod that moves with the earths rotation?  I've always wanted to try this kind of photography, but I just don't have the right equipment.

Hi! I'm a school student and I've become really interested in physics and astronomy since having visited university. I just want to thank you for sharing these incredible, stunning pictures with the rest of the world. I have no doubt you've captured a good handful of people with this beauty and made them more interested in subjects like astronomy. It's beyond me why so many find physics boring, so I really have deep respect for people who contribute to changing this prejudice. We really need more people like you!

Your photography is phenomenal! I adore the night sky - travelling to Norway in the winter to see the Aurora Borealis - where is the best place to see skies like the ones you capture?

Thank you so much :D (Big Grin)  I live in Australia so I am only familiar with my skies, but generally the further you can get away from artificial lights the better.
